Q1 Blog #2: Learning the Basics10/28/2017
Reflection:
I think it played Lightly Row pretty well. All the notes were correct notes. However, some notes are longer and/or shorter than they really are. It was not keeping a consistent tempo throughout the piece. Learning the notes on the Grand Staff was little difficult for me since I'm used to reading my music in Alto Clef. It a Clef that is only specific to viola and it it has the same notes but is shifted up a note from Bass Clef and down 1 from Treble Clef. Other things like note values were the same on any instrument. Another thing I struggled on was getting enough strength to play accurately with the ring finger. Since years of evolution bound our ring fingers to the adjacent fingers by tendons, the ring finger is the least independent and the most difficult to control.
